You are not stupid, not knowing when your spouse is having an affair doesn't make you stupid, it makes you like many other couples who go through the same thing, and just because you've never been beat of hospitalized doesn't make your problem any less real than ours. The purpose of this place is to help people who suffer from PTSD, or people who haven't been diagnosed and who are going through the symptoms. You belong here because you are like us in a way- you've had a traumatic even in your life that you are having a hard time coping with. That DOES NOT MAKE YOU WEAK- it makes you strong because you can talk about it. I'm here if you need someone to talk to...God bless you

Man just reading your post made me feel better about my own recent break up. I say that because you are not stupid or weak at all, what you went through with her sounds brutal to me and I feel like you are strong as hell to share your story with us and seek help. I have had service connected PTSD since 2004 and I have learned how to pretty much keep the beast in check, but that's not even my main reason for using this forum.

The reason I am on this forum now is because of a recent breakup which seems to have made the beast stir more than usual. But mine kind of sounds like a cake walk compared to the grinder you got put through. It just made me think to myself, would I even be as strong as this guy if it were me that had to go through heart break like that? Hang in there man because you have far more strength than you know.

Trauma is trauma.

Here we don't discriminate on what caused the trauma. We're all here because something happened to us and we're all trying to cope. You belong here because that's the purpose of this site; Finding a way to get through this.

You've had a hell of a time, please don't ever think you don't belong here or don't have the right to be here. You have EVERY RIGHT. Don't let yourself or anyone else tell you otherwise.
