Just a thought for times when you feel ashamed or hard on yourself - why would you expect yourself to know how to deal with this situation? None of us do/did. Confronting old trauma is largely and often an act of pure and terrifying improvisation. Hence the bravery Echo mentions. Above all else, be kind to yourself - you are going to need it for the times when it's 2 steps forward, 3 steps back, etc. You are doing great, btw.
PS. That you are scared is an extremely good sign that you are able to accept what is happening to you - it is genuinely and rightfully scary. Thankfully that also means it is a chance to cultivate bravery.
