I wish I knew the metric system. They always said, while I was growing up, that we were going to switch over to that. Obviously, we never did. My husband knows it, because his school took the proactive route and taught him. I have to type it in a search engine that gives kg to lbs. :(

Add another hypothyroid here :arghh;. Mine is under control for now,
Oh no it isn't. After another round of blood tests (6 needle sticks and eventually blood from my hand), my thyroid function has deteriorated. Meds up to 200mcg per day.

It does explain how I am feeling (tired, lethargic, poor hair, nails and skin) and also slow weight loss even though I'm at the gym 4 or 5 times each week and watching what I eat (and drink).

I'm glad you responded to this KP, I need to get back on board. By the way, cbg is capillary blood sugar. Diabetics use it to track blood sugar levels here in the US.

I haven't lost any more weight. I haven't tried, I am having trouble walking every day, andI haven't been swimming. I want to go today. My back has been hurting so badly that I have been scaring my family. I must lose. The back surgeon told everyone in the family waiting room that I was too fat, he gave me 3 lectures. I thought our culture was past embarrassment and shaming. I think his goal was to make me cry. It didn't work.

I walked the last 2 days in a row before the pain started. I will do it today too. I will start checking in here too!

my thyroid function has deteriorated.

Oh no! I hope it resolves itself soon KP. There you are doing all the right things and then this happens. Hopefully, once the thyroid levels are up you will lose weight. xx

I had a word with my doctor this week and he said my iron, foliate and haemoglobin are all up now so I can begin walking again although I have to start slowly. He has put me on a medication to aid clotting to make my periods more manageable and hopefully keep the anaemia at bay - also a higher dose iron.

If the weather is fine on Tuesday we will be doing an Autumn walk around Pendle. My son may go up Pandle Hill but that is too much of an ask for me at the moment so just a fairly flat 5 miles.
