I'm wondering how many are using wine to calm panic/anxiety? If so, is it helping?

Confident
My panic has been so intense that I have started using wine after a long time of sobriety and many psyche meds. I already know alcohol is generally frowned upon so not looking for a lecture, my mind is already filled with lectures around this. I am looking to hear from those who find a little alcohol in moderation, daily even, has proved effective. Much appreciated.

Whenever I get really, really anxious I do find that drinking a beer helps ease things, but if I try to cover up all of the anxiety with alcohol, I just binge drink and the anxiety never really goes away. I'm 115 pounds on a good day, and I can drink entire bottles of hard liquor while remaining relatively sober because of that adrenaline surge. Unfortunately, overall it has a net negative effect.

Nope. I don’t drink. I have a serious mental health condition which I’m working too damn hard to get on top of, plus I take psychotropic medication to manage it. 2 equally good reasons to not use alcohol.

We all have coping skills that aren’t actually crash hot at helping us cope. Myself included. Alcohol in any form just doesn’t make it onto my personal list.
