Nice Intro Pleiku. Not to mention a total hijack! 2 birds taken with one stone. You'll do well here. I'm not gonna go near that Army Vs Marine part, but the fire works sould be pretty to watch, even all the way up here in Canada.

Zipperhead -- My partner was a Metis from B.C. He came to us (the 2nd of the 8th) after serving his first tour with the Black Horse and was how I found my way to Canada and started in logging. He was not the only Canadian I served with either -- thanks for the help.

Hey Pleiku

Welcome and I loved the post. A JarHead here, and for sure truer words were never spoken. Hey, they don't breed us for brains. :ROFLMAO: well, some at least, and not the officers. I've come to the realization that ALL the branches of the service are the same. Proud to be a Marine, but won't fight about which service is the best. Or am I???????????????

Anyway I've been to Pleiku, my a**hole is better lookin'. Glad you found your way here.

Semper Fi

JarHed (the a is missin' cause I dnt no hw 2 spll)

You are absolutely right about Pleiku. I think it actually looked better after Tet. Sorry about ribbing you leathernecks -- but you guys were never known for being overly sensitive. Ha. Like I said, I never met a marine I didn't like -- hard chargers to a man.

You know, I wonder if you got your officers from the same factory we got ours? Semper Fi Marine!!

Damn you guys...Pleiku..at least it was a good place for me. Don't remember no bad shit from Pleiku....well not yet!!!

Can you believe it? I am still waiting on the VA...what year is this anyway?????

Yeah, I get the 'it's in the process'. WTF does that mean???

I think if we all got together and marched on Washington..........................Oh, never mind, I think it was tried by the WW1 soldiers for the same reason and they shot a bunch of them. The hard thing is finding the person whose ass you need to kick to get things done. That part is always unclear. Damit.

This is what I worked on today...so the VA can kiss buy butt, just for today.

I did long line fishing out of central florida for 2 summers of jr. high school.
We caught shark, tuna, swords and sails on 2 seperate 10 mile long lines.
Smelly hard work but also fun. Thats a nice sword. Not much bigger I bet you might not have gotten him into the boat.
We used to cut the swords off and sell them for big cash on the docks. Some of the swords I cut off were 4 feet long. Big money there. Congrats on your fish!.

Hey Bill

Nice sword. Nothing more pleasant and peaceful than being on the water. Nice pic, guess that's you, nice to see a smile on your face.

I used to fish shark out in the bay in Pensacola.. nothing like the smell of salt water to an old sailor.. or the bend of the rod almost in half when the shark took the bait down..

This is one of my fishing friends holding this little Bonnet Head Shark. We were getting bait at the time before we went offshore. We put him back in the water and he was OK.

The little guy seam to say " Hey.I don't normally look like this but I took some of Billy's meds for PTSD...Post Traumatic Sea Disorder"

Yeah, my dad told me about that incident. The veterans were marching to demand a discharge bonus they had been promised. The officer in charge of putting down the protest was "Black Jack" Pershing. He gave the order to open fire on the marchers with machine guns. They would have to court martial me before I would open fire on my own brothers. Hard to understand.

Well...if it ever gets so bad I need to blow my f*cking brains out, I damn sure am not going to do that in the dark. I remember the photo of the monk who set himself on fire in Vietnam, a classic image of the war, and his protest of the issues.

I don't want to hurt myself or anyone else for that matter, but the endless hours and days and years of dealing with trying to get the VA to do their job drives me in the direction of wanting too make a statement of some kind. Only one of three outcomes are possible. One, I die of PTSD before they get off their ass. Two, they do their job. Three, I get to the end of my rope and make that statement. The way the United States government is going about dealing with their legal contract with the vets is nothing less than criminal. We are just GI's, the last thing on the priority list, less valuable than some spare part setting in a warehouse. I would get better treatment if I was a generator.

Tomorrow is my C&P, trying to get 100%. Right now 70% for PTSD, but with other grand stuff I total 90% (that is 90 using VA math). Getting that last bit to go to 100% is a bitch, but I will never stop trying.
That is a real message too, never stop trying. I started out many years ago at 10% simply because I was not getting good help. (Alas in some areas the DAV is not what it once was).
I really urge all to ask around and make sure the rep, not just the agency, that is "helping" them has a good reputation.
