I prefer face to face therapy. Just as I don't like faceless telephone calls. I need to see the facial expressions of the people I deal with. It helps me see if they have understood me or look puzzled. I need to see if they believe me. My PTSD is so bad, I don't want to push them up against their inevitable wall of disbelief. There is much to be said for the therapudic value of a compassionate witness. I guess I need to know I have their attention for the time we are together. I've had too many experiences of a therapist who answered his phone messages while driving. Even if he didn't think so, I could hear that he was distracted.
