Is my trauma valid and bad enough?

Yes, this IS bad enough to qualify as trauma. It is kidnapping, ------>TORTURE <----- and children have died because of it. Just a quick search on it turns up stories of deaths, near deaths, horrific injuries result in the need for skins grafts and amputations! If a parent did what the people they give their children too, they would be locked away for life. What is even scarier is that no law has been made to make them illegal.

I am truly horrified by reading some of these stores, so please know that my heart goes out to you and no child ever deserves what you went through.

Denying the reality or the severity of our trauma is very common. I think yours is completely valid.

i also attended a RTC in Utah that "demanded greatness not compliance". I think your experience is very valid, and definitely "bad enough". My heart goes out to you!!

That sounds scary! I would not even want to imagine. I have minimized my trauma also but I think that it is common to do so. Especially when you hear other people's traumas that seem 10x worse. Mental trauma is probably the hardest, imo anyway. Hopefully this site can be of some comfort and help to you.
