PTSD is separate from trauma. Trauma and cleanliness… where interconnected as you outline, then the solution is to deal with the trauma. Cleanliness is like a coping mechanism for you. It reassures you that your trauma can’t continue if you have a clean house. Maybe a question to ask yourself is, “are you constantly living your trauma by trying to maintain such high cleanliness standards?”
Its one thing to have a clean house because you like it that way. You feel good, so forth. Its another to maintain it based on the premise of any mess feeling threatening to you. You have to deal with the specific trauma in order to deal with the symptom.
