I want to mention about the work connected with animals, if you really don*t watn to interect with people - choose animals!) they are cute and they can comfort you and help come down) it is for sure!

Yea! I did that for a while, it was great at first, but then they started giving me impossible dead lines and loads that were impossible for one person to manage?

Although I'm retired now, (well on disability since my accident fourteen years ago) I wish, during my working life, that I had a job that I enjoyed doing, but I never got that?

Mind you, there's not much fun to be had in the heavy oil construction business? Lol

Especially when working over seas?

@Cj77 i have a link to a blog with a list of jobs you can work from home that do not require phone contact. however i am still new and my post count is not high enough to allow me to post links and your inbox is full....if you inbox me, i may be able to forward it to you.

I have the same question. I like human interaction, 95% of the time, but it's that 5% that is killer for my PTSD.

Does anyone who if Technical Writing or editor is still a career? I don't ever see any jobs for that now. Is it called "freelancing" only now? I am not sure what the position is called now.

Most major online job search boards allow you to specify "technical writer" or "editor" in your searches but yes, most of these types of jobs that I've come across are piece-meal "freelancing" positions now.

I think I'm the opposite, I can only handle about 1-2% of interaction with people, so data entry was a great volunteer gig for me (if only the interaction with the supervisor wasn't in the picture, it would have been great). 98% of the time, I prefer to be working alone. I find many with PTSD are like this and it makes me feel less like a failure at life to know this. Good luck with your search!

Oooh, I forgot to mention Nursery work, it's a lot of heavy lifting and physical labor, but plants don't talk back, especially if you can get a support position or are interested in horticultural studies.

I've been looking for seasonal jobs in these areas within a reasonable commute from my home, as well as park maintenance and other outdoor non-interactive positions. I do so much better outside.

Both. I know some with full-time editing for websites.

In my work I've used editors, and recommended to clients. But those are all freelance. Establish a good relationship, and it could turn into full or part-time gig. Check out UpWork.com
