I walked twice today for a total of 2500 steps!! I am working up to 2900 within the upcoming two weeks. Building stamina AND it seems I am sleeping a little better. Numbness and tingling is more manageable, too. Hope to add 400 steps every two weeks. Goal is to join the Y by spring with enough stamina for a treadmill, a yoga or aerobic style class. fingers crossed, heart open.

@DesiretoThrive That's how I add distance. You are doing so well and building stamina. Keep on please. More encouraging thoughts to you. :)

Today I am taking rest, body is asking for rest. This week so many times I thought I can't do this and that. So many thoughts. I was trying to add some more distance and successfully did it. I walked new more distance 5 days in a row. So I am happy with this progress.

I walk my children to school and from school every day. It is surprising to see how many parents drive their kids to school even though they do not live far. I was complaining to my husband about how sore my shoulders are but lamented that carrying two backpacks and walking two six year olds uphill in snow is pretty strenuous. I am pretty much pulling my son up the hill because he is moaning and groaning about how hard it is to walk up the hill. He does have little legs but I am not going to be a parent that drives their kids to school if I do not need to. I am thinking on nice days increasing my walk time after drop off. I have also started to do planks and am going to start a 30 day plank challenge. You gradually increase your plank hold from 20 seconds up to 5 minutes.

wow @MomOfTwo - five minutes holding a plank is a long time! You can do it!

I just finished P90X3 Warrior. There are a few plank exercises in that but my favourite is the elevator push up where you only do a few push ups but you break them into three moves and hold them. Geeze, it's a shakefest for some of those exercises.

3 miles with Hamlet today. We've been walking daily unless it is earnestly raining (I don't mind; he does), and his leash manners are getting back to excellent condition. It's a great exercise for bonding as well as just great exercise.
