Monday: A revisit to Krav Maga - I fet rested after a day off and felt like something really intense. Had a good night sleep Monday night!
Tuesday: 25k bike ride
Wednesday: 28k run outside in the threatening rain - it was cold and I felt I could keep going.
Thursday: 12k walk - felt like using the fitbit a little!! I also felt like a break from the speed and pounding of the pavement. Now I am ready for a drink!!
OMG... it was the flu that kept on giving. Finally... nearly 3 weeks later, first day of getting back to exercise. A healthy 850 calories burned with a 5km run and 30 minute x-trainer workout.
I thought it would hurt more... but I only got some slight twinges of pain like stitch in the 5th km... otherwise, felt awesome.
25k bike ride then met up with some friends for a lake swim. One of them has a dog so the dog and I swam for quite a while. It was really nice, relaxing, like a complete nerve and fibre massage!
This morning while out for a run (22k) I decided to run by my friend's house that has the dog I went swimming with yesterday. I thought maybe he would like another swim.
They were awake but Homer (the dog) had just eaten breakfast and I didn't want to run him so close to his morning meal (he's a large-chested breed, a dane/something mix and we had talked yesterday about bloat in these dogs).
I had a quick cuddle with Homer but then as I was leaving he started howling and ran to the door to try to come with me. I am going back tonight to get him for an evening swim. My friend asked why they hadn't thought of this before - getting their running friends to just come by for the dog lol.
