Rest day today.

I have a big weekend of activity and I realize I have been really pushing to take advantage of the weather and the opportunities that have come up. Last night I started feeling headachy and bit stuffed up so other than allergies which are not generally a problem for me I am going to actually back off for a day and see what happens from rest.

Well that plus Homer is away with his people for a few days... : (

lol, what a great feeling to miss my training pal.

Friday was a dreary, humid, rainy day so since my workout partner isn't back yet I hopped on the bike for a ride in the rain. Ok not as comfortable as I was thinking it would be and now I understand the point about wearing chamois bike shorts _without_ underwear...ouch.

Saturday was pretty much a weather-steambath here so I did a quick 12k around the lake before the worst of the heat set in.
Sunday is a 20k inside run on the treadmill complete with air conditioning. It's morning and already 28c without the humidex here.
Monday, (late Sunday night) Homer is back so I am planning a couple of swims with him this week.

I am a late-to-bed-early-riser. This morning at about 6am I was puttering around the house getting ready for the day when the doorbell rang. 6am and the doorbell rings??

So I head a bit cautiously and peer out of the peep hole and see nothing. I move to the side window to look out. Standing there is Homer. My friend saw me open the blinds and stood off to the side so that I couldn't see her - so all I saw was Homer standing there lol! He was wearing a new harness with light reflector patches on it.

My friend made coffee while I took Homer for a 4k run.

Just when you think there is probably nothing great going to happen in your day, you realize you are filled with love for a dog.

Have a great day Road Warriors!
