The last week has been focussed on getting back to Krav and some shorter distances in running.

I took a rest day and then did some targeted stretching and gentle massage with my foam roller to relax everything but to also give my body a bit of a change in load and demand.

Just got in from a 7k with Homer - 5k running and 2k sniffing. I told him the 5k was for me and the 2k sniffing was for him.

He seems to be a lot more used to the distances now and when his people took him for his shots last week, the vet said there is no problem with him running. In fact, Homer has developed better spring in his hock and stifle joint which apparently he didn't have before he started running.

The things you learn when you run with a dog.

Hey Folks,
Hope everyone is well. This year I decided to get into hockey. I need something new to go with running and some winter hiking with Homer and it's on my bucket list.

There is a rink close by me and they have women's lessons and a house league so it can't get any better than that. They have a group that sells and trades used equipment for practically nothing. I am going out tomorrow to look at used skates that you can get for a song here.

Mostly running this past week. I have logged approximately 95kms since Monday because the weather has been glorious and I am grabbing every single moment out I can.

I run Homer for the last 5kms of my run - I made a route that takes me past his house and then a loop around to finish my run and drop him off home again.

His people gave me a key now and so I can go during the day to take him when I am working nights.

@City Slicker : Congratulations to your new sport and all the running! ...I hope you will enjoy hockey a lot. I still don't have the courage to do some group sports...but I'm positive that you will do great.:tup:

I was also running a lot, too...

Friday: 55 min
Saturday: 75 min
Sunday: 90 min

...I never know the distance because I don't have anything counting that for me - but I made a lot of height meters because the uplands are close by. Some hikers really looked shocked when I was running up their small ways...:roflmao:

I've been cleaning up my diet and exercise. I got a bike (staying true to my Dutch nature), so I'm now using that to travel anywhere within 15 km (= about 9 miles) from my house.
Today my exercise will be about 35 minutes on my bike, and I'm going to the gym for a full body workout that's so tough, that my whole body will feel like jelly afterwards. It'll be horrible, but totally worth it :cp:

Thank you @Anrish - that's some pretty hard core running there. Well done.
I picked up a used pair of hockey skates this weekend and they are perfect.

I forgot how much fun it was to skate in boys skates. Girls' skates are ridiculous - they are made with that silly pick in the front which is great for figure skaters but not so great for the rest of us lol.

I knew a lot of girls growing up that gave up skating thinking they couldn't skate when really it was a problem with the equipment (figure skates) they were given. Boys got the really good skates - the ones that helped you stand up and the ones that supported your ankles... girls got the ones where you fell flat on your face when that pick clipped the ice...

Lots of running for me too these past few days and a 2hr Krav Maga last night. Today I am really sore - a most awesomely goodly-sore lol.
