Low Frustration Tolerance

Getting angry when things are harder than you would like them to be, you could call that frustration.

Or it could be a sign of depression.

Or it could be a sign of a personality disorder (pick one!).

Or it could be you have the Entitlement/Grandiosity schema.

Or it could be that you have low stamina.

Or it could be that you have anger management issues (or even "Explosive Anger Disorder"...eek!).

Or it could be adhd, generation 'Entitlement', etc etc etc.

I think if someone said to me, "That's the ol' Low Frustration Tolerance' kicking in", I'd probably ask them to be a little more specific:shifty:

Thank you guys, you gave me some ways for further insight.

@Friday Yeah, I have ADHD and I think LFT (or however you name it) is because of it. The lack of focus, the so so so quick boredom, the difficulty about how to start a particular project, the consistency needed etc. Procrastination element exists, but its most likely a part of it, rather than a cause.

@Justmehere It's great to hear you are having sucess in therapy, hugs and affirmations if allowed.

@PTSDisweird I was joking a bit, sorry. Glad that you are able to find answers. For awhile, l struggled with this, now l accept there are limitations but not to beat myself up about this. What a relief.

I would think that instead of looking for a name/diagnosis that finding a solution would be more effective.

For me'self I usually have to parse where something is coming from in order to find a solution that works best. Not always, but it's a huuuuuuuuuuge giant red EasyButton when I know if something is:

- ADHD
- PTSD
- A bad habit
- Environmental ("Before diagnosing yourself with anxiety or depression, first make sure that you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes." ;))
- et cetera

Saves reinventing the wheel, a whole lot of :banghead:, as well as doing 12 wrong things that just make everything worse before finally falling face first into "Why didn't you start off with that one? That's, like, PTSD 101." (I hate you all. :shifty: ). :roflmao:

PTSD I originally treated like ADHD. To some successes...aaaaaaaand a whole lot of really regrettable failures. Whoopsies. There's a lot of crossover symptoms and it drove me freaking insane that my tricks that *always worked*, that now for some unbeknownst godforsaken reason, didn't work. Aaaaargh. Why don't you work??? Work! Work! f*ck. It doesn't work. To this day when I get hit with a symptom that isn't immediately evident as either or, I usually have to try both sets of tricks and tools on it,.. To see where it's coming from. Also, in part, because they can piggyback. Meaning both disorders are contributing to a single effect :wtf: I love my brain.
