Good to hear that you're having some better times, Flamengo, although not so great about the side effects. I imagine that those things will pass within a few weeks.

So far my husband seems to be going pretty good - I'm not sure what dosage he is on though, I should find out!

I just wanted to say about klonopin (I know it as clonazepam) - I am on this but once upon a time I did come off it and gradually tapered it down to nothing. I didn't experience any bad side effects as a result of doing so and certainly nothing that lasted beyond a few days to a week.

Hi Bilby,

Hows your husband doing? I seem to having much better days then bad days. The side effects usually go away a few days. On days of added stress I feel a little more anxious, but I kind of just let it go and remember how bad I was a few months ago.

I also seem to be sleeping better, one day at a time.

That's really good to hear, Flamengo.

Thanks for asking about my husband. He seems to be doing well with the combination of medication, as well as the therapy which is quite intensive at the moment.

He did mention something about feeling strange in his legs on a few occasions - this can only be in relation to the Luvox as he has taken Seroquel before and not had this happen.

Hi Bilby!

How is your husband doing? I just had my dose increased to 150mg. I was doing amazing since my last post, had a rough week starting last Saturday but think its mostly related to me eating crap. Got a little over confident.

I'm hoping 150 will do the trick. I read that Luvox needs to be dosed at 150 to block 80% of seratonin and for its true therapeutic effects to kick in. I'm also going to start tapering off Klonopin.

I took Luvox for a few months many years ago. I was prescribed it by a psychiatrist, all the general doctors I have seen since wanted to know why I was prescribed it since it isn't prescribed much in america and when it is, it is for OCD. It worked so well, I felt like my mind was quiet for once. I stopped taking it because it make me feel really flat and gave me an odd taste in my mouth which made my food taste really off. It would have been a great weight loss drug for me though :)

I took Luvox for maybe 3 weeks and had a paradoxical reaction, instead of it making me calm it made me aggressive and angry. I stopped that right away. I, in general, do not respond well to SSRI's and SNRI's seem to work for a short time then my body adjusts and it doesn't work anymore.

Luvox is know to have that reaction. Where it eliminates anxiety with a negative reaction. Read it on wiki.

Guys the half life of Luvox is 15.6 hours. Does it mean that in that time my body is already eliminating 50% of the medication? That seems crazy fast.
