Sorry, yes awareness and knowledge of it has increased along with the recognition that anybody can get it, not just Vets of foreign wars. War is War, the battles are just different. The critera still apply for real PTSD.

Steere, not long ago here, PTSS was used if it was not lasting more than 6 months, if I am correct, havng nothing to do with the source or the trauma really.

Andrew, when I was "tagged" with "complex" PTSD years after I had PTSD, I believe it was defined here as a more "pervasive" form of PTSD and again had nothing to do with the type of trama that caused it.

OK Anthony, I have wrangled with the health care corrruption issue... This may be from a different perspective .. I am going to give brief background. Please US health care profs do not attack me but i love dialogue. I am going to try and remain bias and the opinions and examples are my own....

LIve right next to NYC my whole life. I have been a self employed contractor in a service field where emergency call service is required at all times of the day and night. I was trained that it is easier to work in areas where the wealthy persons are as you deal with fewer customers because you get a higher rate of return with less windshield time (drive time in traffic produces no income). I have been invited with open arms to many a homes of health care professionals at any cost as they often said I need my sleep, my wife or (girlfriend/lover) is going to leave unless you get rid of my problem or my kids are petrified and will not let me get any sleep and I have surgery to perform at 7:00 am.

Next I was married to a woman whom I was with and shared in her obtainning her RN in the specialties of Psyche nursing and surgery recovery. Her family has there fair share of DR's and other health care professionals. Her mother is the county comunications person for the DEPT. of health ....... NO substantial health care trainning she had a degree in teaching.....

There are a ton of problems in health care in the US but the greatest is the greed... politicians, lawyers, administrators, employees and even patients.... We live in the US as we be

Sorry sidetracked and thankfully I was . You know it really does not matter a ton what I think. The truth is this sight and other sites available through the Internet are awesome.

I have become more educated about PTSD and ADHD than I ever would have from Dr's Therapists and etc. I have to decide what is good and bad information just as I chose a competent Dr or Not.

My disorders are unique to me. I have had to take bits of information from all those shared here on the Internet and create a complete and competent picture. I have saved 10,000 dollars just by the time I have spent on the Internet. Are my Therapist and Dr's completely eliminated, NO, but there use by me is more efficient and the results I have achieved recently are leaps as compared to the last 10 months.

Instead of being kind of left in the dark or maybe even offered limited information that required me to always go back to my health care professionals for more information at a cost that fit my professionals needs as opposed to my mental health needs...

Yes Anthony the U.S. is broke I don't want to sidetrack the post so I won't divulge my political opinions but we are seriously hurting.
