Microdosing Psilocybin

I’ve tried dozens of medications over the years SSRI, SNRI, antiepileptics, antipsychotics, and others.. I’ve not had any great effect with any of them. In my case my nervous system has been so sensitive from trauma and muscular imbalances with weightlifting that if I’ve ever felt happier, joy, energetic, it exalts the nerves and muscles creating a lot of anxiety and continued until I was burnout. It’s been really a catch 22. Tapering out meds has led to crashes and burnout. Today my brain is fried totally.

I’ve followed the science with psilocybin and its effect of helping people with complex illnesses like ptsd and able to rewire the brain. Today I’m to desperated to not follow the law so I just ordered microdosing packs of truffles that contain psilocybin as well as a grow-kit to grow mushrooms.

Please share your experiences with psilocybin. How did work out, do you still use it? Anything that can help.

I've been meaning to try this... Currently I'm getting ketamine treatment through a local clinic which is really helping me. I've also ordered an LSD-derivative which is legal in the country where I live, but I've not really noticed any positive effects from this yet and as the ketamine is helping, that's all I'm currently doing.

Edit to add: I'm not sure of the forum's policy, but I asked at the time, when I wrote about my experiences and I got the advice that if what I'm doing and writing about is legal in the country I live in, then it's okay for me to be writing about it on the forum. (Maybe something to keep in mind in terms of what you write here...)

Glad to hear that it’s working with ketamine. Is it injections? What’s the effect you experience?

Thank you for letting me know. I didn’t even think about that. Psilocybin is actually illegal in my Country.

I've added my experiences with ketamine (nasal spray) to this thread:

Oh, that reminds me... Where I live, there are legal options for buying Psilocybin (including growing kits) and you can get quite a lot of information about which type of mushroom has which type of effect and intensity. So probably best to start with a very gentle/ non-intense strain to start with.

Be careful of growing your own. Fresh Q’s & others are incredibly potent.

I got some help from a close relative before I ordered. He and his partner offers retreats for clients with psilocybin and kambô and other therapies, breathwork, movements etc. He has been microdosing for some years and recommended Golden teacher strain and start very low, 0.1g or below.

I did microdosing but it didn’t seem to make a difference for my symptoms. I did it for about three months on a certain schedule. I was seeing a T at the time.

Did you experience adverse reactions or it just had no effect? Do you still happen to have the schedule?

No adverse reactions. I don’t have the schedule. I think it was something like 3 days on, 3 days off but I really don’t remember.

able to rewire the brain
This is experimental. So far, the evidence that it’s helpful for ptsd, when used with therapy, hasn’t been all that great.

I’ve got my name on a short list for a potential trial. The microdosing will occur in the context of 8 hours of therapy (in one day) per dose. Even in that format? It’s still experimental.

It’s not like drugs that you can take, with support from a doctor, and it will (all by itself) alleviate symptoms. And in the absence of a person who understands your issues, your diagnosis, and what to do with your brain while you’re under the influence, the potential for it to mess with (sorry, ‘rewire’) your brain in horrible ways, that leave you in a far worse position, potentially permanently.

I get the desperation. I do. But if people who know what they’re doing, who are using this substance in carefully controlled clinical settings, are still getting mixed results, is it really something you want to throw at your already struggling brain at home?

It took me more than 25 different trials to find a medication that worked for me. It took a number of therapists to find a therapist that worked for me. And it’s taken a lot of hard work - both psychological work and physical work, to get my brain reasonably healthy again. But there are always safer options to explore, and invest in, before experimenting with your own brain.

Be safe.
