Adolescents girls with sexual abuse-related post-traumatic stress disorder experienced greater benefit from prolonged exposure therapy (a type of therapy that has been shown effectiveness for adults) than from supportive counseling, according to a study.

Yup... this was one of my primary therapies undertaken, and it did the most good facing fears than avoiding them. Taking the original foundation over the following years, constantly applying prolonged exposure and CBT principles, and I continue to improve symptomatically, albeit part of that is controlling my stressor intake as well, it is the most effective for PTSD based on all studies results. Yes... even more than EMDR, which is highly effacious as is.
