@Lionheart777, you are fighting a tough battle! I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and have to take insulin and it is hard changing all your habits. I totally get where you are coming from, and I admire your determination to make the best of your life. I want to get there too!

It is challenging, but not impossible to have a good life despite these things. I am fortunate to have friends and family who love and care for me and a good support team to encourage me and provide a positive direction. As far as I am concerned, I must credit myself with stubborn persistence and a refusal to accept imposed limitations, as well as the understanding that it could be worse.

(((Dear LionHEART))) You have been able to keep your sense of humor, and appreciation for life which is so very hard to do with a list of diagnoses you have!!

I also have Major Depressive Disorder, Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease, Osteoarthritis, right leg neuropathy, (side effects from 2 neck surgeries 11 days apart in 2010, due to undiagnosed spinal fluid leak),interstitial cystitis, IBS (irritable bowel), oh, and PTSD. Have I missed any, I wonder?

In spite of those things, I can love, feel, walk, talk, think, drive, care for my mom, and laugh!

As far as I am concerned, I must credit myself with stubborn persistence and a refusal to accept imposed limitations, as well as the understanding that it could be worse.

You state perfectly my own philosophy!!! We will overcome adversity!!!

Yeeks, It sounds like you are playing" Whack a Mole" with your symptoms, Lionheart. I am amazed that you can find solace and grace in the midst of so many distressing symptoms. PTSD really does take a toll on us physically. Me too.

Since you don't mind spiritual comments, here is one for today.

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10

I believe that our random acts of kindness may not be all that random. We don't have to search them out. God brings the opportunity to do kindness to us. I believe that we have freewill and so are not forced to do anything in particular. But if we live a life of kindness, goodness naturally results from each tiny thing. This verse gives me hope. At least I belong to someone who 'gets' my infirmities and views me with compassion. We pray, Our Father, your father and my father, father of all whom he created.
