Multiple Trauma Throughout My Life...

New Here
I have had many traumatic experiences throughout my life. Molested by my maternal grandfather at three, by a neighbor at four, physically & emotionally abused by my step father from age five to age fourteen, my daughter moved in with my mother & step father when she was ten (due to my PTSD) and lost my son to trisomy 18 at seven months pregnant. Needless to say, I have a very hard time in EVERY area of my life! This is the only place I have found that I feel someone, anyone understands me! So, I just wanted to say, Thank you all! :)

Welcome Amy... so sorry for your loss. Glad that you found the forum, it's a reasonably safe place to land. Lots of good stuff here to help aim at coping strategies.

My idea of complex is much different than yours! I was held captive by my step father for MANY years! Maybe next time you could send me a message first? FYI, you do not have to experience war to have been held captive! Kind of put off by the rudeness

Btw, if I am going to be treated the way I always have, this will be the last time I am on this site!

Main articles: Grief and Grief counseling
Traumatic grief[14][15][16][17] or complicated mourning[18] are conditions[19] where both trauma and grief coincide. If a traumatic event was only life threatening then more likely the survivor will experience post-traumatic stress symptoms. If the survivor was close to the person who died, then more likely symptoms of grief will also develop. When the death is of a loved one and was sudden or violent then both symptoms coincide. This is likely in children exposed to community violence.[20]
For C-PTSD to manifest the violence would occur under conditions of captivity, loss of control and disempowerment, coinciding with the death of a friend or loved one in life threatening circumstances. This again is most likely for children and stepchildren who experience prolonged domestic or chronic community violence that ultimately results in the death of friends and loved ones. The phenomenon of the increased risk of violence and death of stepchildren is referred to as the Cinderella effect.
There are conceptual links between trauma and bereavement since loss of a loved one is inherently traumatic.[21]

Hi Amy... I believe you have become lost in the post and difference between your trauma being complex, and discussions about "complex trauma" itself. Vast difference.

I have amended forums just minutes ago, so you may want to chill out and take a step back from your "perceived" understanding of what was posted in relation to forum rules vs. you taking a statement personally that your trauma is not complex.

This is why the complex trauma forum just got removed, because people cannot differentiate between posting in it as a complex trauma sufferer vs. posting about complex trauma as an entity.

Please calm down.

Anthony, I am calm. My step father died from agent orange poisening. I witnessed his prolonged death as well as his abuse before and during his illness. I am glad that the complex trauma has been removed. As a victim, I do not think that we should be comparing our trauma. Just trying to help each other deal with the fact that we have to live with that trauma.
