I have learned to manage my pains over the past few days and I am noticing less symptoms. This may be weird but I think it might help other people because I've heard of the theory before.
I get back pain and chest pains, though I don't exactly experience the "panicked feeling" of panic attacks. (I do, but It makes me freeze and dissociate rather than freak out and act like a typical "panicked" person)
It helps to think of your pain as a ball of fear, a part of you that is nagging to be nurtured and accepted. Instead of resisting the pain and trying to force it away, embrace and endure it, take a deep breath and get into the mentality that all is actually okay and that the degree of pain really is based in your perception of it. I believe (though I'm not 100%) that this is how certain people walk on hot coals and do things like that as well. I read an article about how certain pains are linked to areas of mental stress and also watched a National Geographic video on Stress that really helped me put it into perspective.
I hope this helps someone else, I needed to write this as a pick me up after my journal entry because I'm having a bad day, so I needed to write something on a lighter note.
(side note: DO NOT TRY THE HOT COALS LOL)
