So my doc was talking about putting me on meds and I seen that a lot of people have a hard time getting off them. Should I try them or run?

Prazosin. It's a god send for many of us here, try it. It's changed my life.

I've gone up to 6mg and now I'm back down to 3mg as I've managed better with my work in therapy. Been taking it since March of this year and I wish it had had it earlier.

Anyways, a lot of have good success with it. And I've lowered the disage with no issues

No it's not an opiate. Or a benzodiazepine or any other narcotic. While it can make you feel pretty out of it for a few hours, it's not a "high". Nor is it addictive.

The body also doesn't build much tolerance to it either. You should be able to to remain on the same dose for a long time before needing adjustment, if you ever do. And it's cheap.

It's not a mood drug though. You may still be prescribed an antidepressant in addition to the prazosin.

I would recommend when speaking with your doctor, if they do want to give you an antidepressant. If you ask them if the antidepressant is addictive, and they say no. Make sure to ask how bad the "discontinuation syndrome" could be.

I had a doctor tell me the drug they prescribed me was not addictive at all. When I quit it later on, I had wicked withdrawals. The doctor was correct though, addictive is the incorrect word for that. I asked the wrong question. (dick move though). Semantic bullshit.

The prazosin though. Definitely try that. That stuff is great. Just be careful when standing up after you take the pill. Especially during the first couple weeks. It can cause you to faint. The fainting thing usually improves after a few days.
