Nervous About Posting

Welcome to the forum. Read threads that speak to you and respond with questions or support for others. There are great resources here.

Hello Crazy cat woman....
I am also new and didn't know what to write first of all :) ...I was also scared ....I was sitting at the pc staring at a blank page and thought just go for it ... :)

I've found that writing, here or in my private journal, has been a great addition to my therapy. It has also been useful to give to my therapist at times so that he can see what is going on when I am non-communicative in sessions. Also helps when you write something out and you get feedback from people who are in the same 'headspace'. Therapists might understand and can help but for many they haven't been where you are. Most of us don't bite very hard- just nibble.

The Introductions thread really can be a great place to start. Share what has led you here, even ask advice about which forums might be relatable to your situation.

I think I spent most of my early days just reading; this is a big place with wonderful information and users. Welcome!

(and edited to add you've already done so! I'll echo @desiderata310 , writing can be very very helpful - it is different from talking. Think about starting a trauma diary; keep exploring the site. )

Hi Crazy Cat Lady, welcome to the forum. If you are nervous about posting and want to get the hang of the mechanics of it there is a forum called "Social". It has a lot of threads that are just fun to do. You don't have to jump into anything you don't want to. Take your time and post when you are comfortable, no one will push you into anything.

Hello and welcome! I am new here as well. Sometimes I'm terrified to say things as well, but I am finding talking with others really helps. Not everyone gets me nor what I post, but that is ok. We all come from very different places to where we are today.

@Crazy Cat Lady, don't be scared, there's nothing to fear here. I am so glad I found this community of people who can be open about their inner worlds with each other. Look around at the posts, many are very raw and unfiltered and still no one gets freaked out, they only offer support, caring and understanding. We are all so fed up with the everyone's-fine charade you get in the real(?!) world, we are just grateful to have a place to vent. Post what you are feeling, don't worry about how it sounds, I guarantee you there are people who who will relate and respond.

Good to have you.

Welcome here. I know what you mean! I've been here a little while, but not really posted much.

You just have to make sure it's under the right category. If you have a lot of graphic or disturbing material you want to purge, there's a section for trauma diaries. People who fear they might be triggered know to steer clear.
