News New Cops Told To Go Out And Cause Ptsd

One last thing regarding cameras. In NY 'they' have cameras everywhere for the 'criminals' so when the cops are also criminals why can't they be on camera? I mean smoking a joint and being tortured are both criminal activities, are they not? And for the former 'criminals' well the law is an ass as for later criminals, an ass is the law!

I think requiring the police to run video on themselves while on duty is good policy...if the device malfunctions conveniently, then the presumption is that tampering occurred?

...the thing is? This protects the police themselves from false accusations. So if the cops themselves are not crooked? Why would they have a problem?

...people dying in custody because they are NOT faking a medical emergency is a problem, because so many do fake medical emergencies.

Two solutions i can think of: treat all of them as medical emergencies, or make an inexpensive device to slap onto detainees to monitor vitals.

I favor the latter, I think they ought to have such. Maybe just leave them on all detainees if the batteries can last that long and the thing can be made cheaply enough.

Police brutality is only now becoming an issue in the US because of cellphone cameras. I knew it was happening, but most people did not? Now they do, and they are not happy.

It needed to be faced here.
This is therapeutic.

No matter whether they are faking or not either have EMS check them out. Or bring them to the ER, they can stay cuffed to the gurney. It's just part of the everyday life of ER professionals. So says my aunt but she's only been a nurse in the ER for 37 years, a lawyer for 30!..No! not a medical malpractice attorney, family law and adoptions, part time :-)

That works for me.
I go to the county, so I have been in a waiting room with guys who were shackled, wearing orange and with a deputy escort.
...We were all really, really bored together...

I was thinking, though, in terms of prisoners who develop surprise medical emergencies in their cells, and suicide prevention-ish things? I guess camera monitors could help, and more frequent checks/ more staffing.

I don't know that I'd be good with adding anything to the thread because the US still isn't one of the -always- shoot first countries. And there's a public outcry & there's a public debate till the cows come home, instead of regularly disappeared police, detectives, soldiers taking their duty of protecting order seriously, journalists, aid workers, and whoever happened to step into the operation by accident.

I'm personally fricking happy about that part. Not that shit be happening, but that it's talked about and out.

Bowing out probably, too personal.
