Could your mom tell the bride and groom instead of you? Since she is the one who is most upset by it, and you are mostly secondarily harmed, should she take responsibility for the retakes?

You could find yourself a "shot messenger" forever in their hearts for showing them a dark cloud over their happiness. They might not be in a position to be concerned until later on, or maybe they are happy and don't mind? I'm not sure they will appreciate your feelings.

I'm forever the one pointing out problems, and now I'm seeing how people don't like it, even though my intentions are to be helpful. Just a thought. I'm not there, so feel free to not listen to this concern if it simply does not apply to your family.

Good point. Thankfully we as a whole have a very good relationship with them both but I can see how bitterness or general bad feelings could seep in here.

They're coming over tonight and Mum's in a position where she's ready to talk to them about it, so I'm going to stay out of the way! No point putting myself in the firing line unnecessarily!!
