Our Pets

My little "stinker" took a swipe at me this week. He is a Guinea Pig and his name is Angel. He has not lived up to his name this week! I was giving him some new veggies and went to take the old wilted ones out of his cage, and instead of going to eat the new stuff, he took a swipe at my wrist and even made a red mark. I didn't bleed, but I could see that he broke the skin a bit, so I put some merthiolate on it. He does this maybe once a month or so. I'm not sure why, especially since I am giving him some fresh stuff to eat first. I make sure to talk to him while I am there, so he knows it is me. I try to do everything "right" so he feels loved. This has not been a good week in general, so he has just added to my woes.

Perfect summertime snack!

Okay so not about "my" pets, but saw two things the other day that were moving in a good way.
A Destin boat captain rescued a cat that someone had thrown off the Destin bridge, named her Miracle and adopted her. Nice to read how a big hearted salty he man opened his heart and home to what could have been a really bad deed by some asshole.

And cuz I clicked on the story, one of the suggested things was a vblog from a combat vet with PTSD and a TBI... and I so loved the story I wanted to share it here on youtube cut and paste "A soldier on the verge of death rescues a kitten with no hope. Then, the kitten rescues him." Which led to another nice kitty video "Giant Men Meet Tiny Kittens" (or Buzzfeed? Manly Men Meet Tiny Kittens).

Thought it might be worth sharing.
