Our Pets

My hens are pets, they are petted and cuddled and are part of the family. They will never be eaten. One of my chicks is a chocolate orpy, another is a lavandar orpy.

My guys are my greatest teachers and healers.

My tribe:
Peri (short of Periwinkle/Perpagillian), Ella Bea, Tristen James are sibling cats all 10 years old this month.
Jasmine James is two years old kitten and has brought such a light to the home.

We also have two squirrels we support on the porch: Baxley 1 and Baxley 2 and an occasional raccoon visitor Ranger Randy.

I love it @Crow! I love animals and being in nature, and encouraging the soil to grow food for all of us. I have a pair of mourning doves that live in the big willow near my chicken run. They also eat the chicken feed but there is enough for everyone. They are so pretty.

What a great thread... I love animals of all kinds... would love to work and live on a rescue farm somewhere.... that would feel like what Heaven must feel like...

Angel is my Guinea Pig. He's grayish brown and squeaks a lot when I talk with him. He likes veggies only, fresh ones too, he is a fussy eater (like his mommy) and I love my fresh veggies too, of course. He likes to get petted sometimes, but he has accidents, so I don't hold him that often. We mostly talk. He keeps me company.

Then I have a fish tank. It is a 10 gallon one and it has 3 red barb tetras and one algae-eater in it. I have no named them. My fish are so quiet, you know, but their filter always makes this nice calming water falls kind of noise which I so appreciate. If the power goes out, the silence is deafening. Yet it is such a quiet noise that most folks would not even notice it when they come to visit. However, to me, it is a Heavenly sound.

@ladee, I am hoping to start a rescue farm in the near future. I hope to save animals from slaughter.

We have our "evil" but adorable cat Cocoa. She's 11 y/o

Then we have two adorable teddy bear hamsters named Clara belle and faith. They r sisters and ever since we brought them home I have no idea who is who...

3 pet rats. Oreo, q-bert and Jasper. Never thought I could warm up to them but they are soooo smart, have their own personalities. I've come to love them as much as my daughter does

Lol @SheilaKathy think of Jasper... He's the lover of the group...always giving kisses. He's sweet and adorable.

I have two Russian Blue cats. One is named Chalice and the other Snow.

They are so empathic and vocal when something is up. Chalice woke us up a few years back when there was a water leak. They both walk on leash like a dog and will warn if there is something uncomfortable nearby.

I know that @Esterio has a chicken named TexCat. I even have a photo of her!
