Health insurance to pay for therapy is different from health / life insurance paying out based on lifetime PTSD. Therapy you do not need a diagnosis for in order to do it... and insurance is insurance for therapy. When it comes to being paid out for PTSD based on an injury sustained, or such, nothing will make it through the legal life insurance system except PTSD and other comorbid officially recognised diagnoses. You can't sue for complex PTSD, for example, as it will get tossed out of court having no medical legality by either the APA or WHO. Well... you wouldn't make it to court. You would enter court and legal proceedings with PTSD + ???, all diagnosed IAW either the DSM or ICD.
