Pain:what Are The Options?

Always remember, pain is not just tissue or nerve damage. When you are depressed it amplifies it.

Damn straight. Oddly, I haven't been depressed for a while. I think I am stuck in the more dangerous outer ring not pictured, which is "JDGAF"- Just Don't Give A F*ck. Now I could sit here and quote replicated valid research on how us red-heads experience pain differently than the rest of you (better tolerance for extreme pain, better tolerance of cold, piss poor tolerance of heat) but everyone keeps asking me how I can be up and doing stuff just a few days after the surgery.

Shit, I was up and doing stuff at 0500 the morning after. Sure I was in pain, and a bit high thanks to all the pills, but I repotted, cloned and divided about 300 plants before noon, mowed all three of my lawns, and weeded the flower beds (about 1500 square feet worth). yes, I was spitting blood the whole time and could barely open my mouth to drink, but it hurt less when I was getting shit done. I realized this morning that the pain is actually became less tolerable with my initial post in this thread, a few days after the surgery.

I wonder if running out of things to do and lousy weather gave me too much time to think about being in pain. Ya' know? Kind of like when you skin your knee and you don't even feel it until you notice blood on your leg and actually look at the wound? I suspect it is like that. The weird part is my hip, shoulder and the big assed scar on my abdomen all hurt too. None of those have bothered me in years. Shit the gut scar is over a decade old and I had all but forgotten I had the big son of a bitch.

Now that I am off the narcotics, I may have a few fingers of whiskey (the Irish American Pain Control Method) and see if that helps.

Weird not having multiple toothaches though. Perhaps that pain was so intense for all these years that now that is is gone I am just noticing everything else?

No wounder why mine is so f*cking bad....I did not know this. I get up and it's normally a 10, now it's way passed that! Who the f*ck came up with 0 to 10 pain level BS anyway.....I like the word excruciating, that's when I can not get to a place to sit down....so I just sit down where I'm at, as I can't walk.

Sludge, you are on to some truth. I got up today and the pain was in the E level. I had to get a blood draw and pick up some cat food, could not find some dumb f*ck to do it for me. LOL So out I go......While busy doing this shit the pain level seemed to be some what less.....

Wish I knew what to tell you to do that would help. If that were the case then I would have answers for myself.

I pretty much hate myself. Lot of pain lately. I look outside, and tell myself I should go do something constructive. Then I think about all the aches and say screw it. Depressing.

No help here Sludge, two Oxy, then more and I'm looking for bail money.

Old AA sponsor said "suck-em up cupcake" or find a comfortable dumpster to get out of the weather.

It's the Neanderthal genes! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

((For anyone who doesn't know... Over the past 10 years or so archeologists have discovered both that Neanderthals were redheads / that's where we get the ginger-gene, and the most artistic ancient cities we've discovered? Were theirs. Not "ours". Ours in quotes, cause nearly everyone has significant chunks of Neanderthal DNA in our helixes.))

I've been in severe pain like that and they finally gave me morphine.

Aleve can help reduce inflammation, at least it did with me.

This is also my justification for eating the neighbors first when the world goes to shit. Course I gotta get some teeth in first.

Doing much better today, keeping as busy as possible and focused on anything but the pain. Spending as much time as possible outdoors is helping too. Tried a hard cider, but that made things worse.
