Not the best photo. This is my very French randonneuring bike. My trainer wants me riding on pavement more since it is easier to follow instructions when the surface is consistent. So I started riding my old rando bike yesterday. A nice change of pace and it really is a beautiful bike and a joy to ride.

But wait, there is more. This is my travel bike in I think Serbia last summer. There is magic about travel on two wheels. Oh yes, and me paying my respects to law enforcement while watching the Tour of California bicycle race. The cop was good natured about it, he just asked me what kind of car I drove. Go figure.

@jaccat nice images of the tree! I like the different levels of zoom and the perspective of the trunk. Altogether, gives a good sense of the feeling of the tree! Looks like a stone fruit of some kind—cherry or plum? Is it just kind of feral?

@Rose White they were Hawthorn (May) or Blackthorn (Sloe) flowers, I can't remember which now. I took pictures of both. I don't know if you get them in your part of the world, they're very much a part of the countryside here.

@jaccat oh cool! No we don’t have them here—but that explains why it looks feral! And why it looks like stone fruit, same family—rose family. I heard somewhere that the Hawthorne flowers are stinky, did you notice? IIRC, blackthorn might be more of a hedge, but not sure.
