Swans are weird to me… as they’re a food-bird, like chickens, or pigeons, in so many of the places I’ve lived. Or maybe? More like turkey/goose just because of their size??? But I’ve spent too long in the turkey-thanksgiving-USA to really equate turkeys with almost anything else. Turkey sandwiches year round, legs at carnivals, whole bird at thanksgiving & Xmas?... I guess swans are historical feast-fare in the UK? But not modern, right??? Like people ate swans at feasts until the early 1900s, but they’re just “pretty” now?

I hope I’m not stepping on cultural toes. Cranes & Herons are sacred, where I was raised, but swans were lunch.

The Queen owns em. Well, King now I spose.

I still flub up Queen’s English vs King’s English.

Her Magesty DID have to go and live/rule for half of forever… I think we can be forgiven, the occasional lapse between Queen’s vs King’s.

<grin> Robin Hood tells me all the deer… are MINE. 😉 Well. That & living in the US. (Where that’s also not actually true. Legally. Only in certain seasons, under certain conditions. Even/especially, if I kill one with my vehicle).

Sometimes, just sometimes, I really love my job. Repatriation to Ireland. The sunrise was worth the 2am alarm. IMG_4960.webpIMG_4959.webpIMG_4958.webpIMG_4957.webpIMG_4955.webp
