Supporter Please Help, I'm Now Homeless Due To My Wife's Ptsd; We Also Have 2 Young Kids.

Her PTSD has gone untreated for over 14 years-- which I found only gets worse with time. As a result, our marriage has been VERY difficult! My wife is in denial about her untreated PTSD being the real issue of our problems; she often 'fights' or 'flights' (unfortunately always w/ our kids). I don't drink ANY alcohol, I don't use ANY drugs, I'm a professional P.I., and I love my kids (boy, 8; & girl, 4) w/ ALL my heart-- & she's keeping me from them by filing unwarranted restraining orders! Because of all this, I've lost my job; I'm now living in my car & have been for the last 4 months-- the exact same thing happened last year. I'm a Christian & all of this has really started to effect my faith in God.

My wife is extremely controlling, to the point where she doesn't allow me to participate in the rearing of our children, i.e. she consistently undermines my authority as their father, and also mocks/ laughs at me in front of our children when I bring it to her attention. I've never been 'allowed' to bathe either one of our children; also, I was rarely 'allowed' to change their diapers when they were younger. I have been denied these precious bonding experiences with our children, which is is extremely unfortunate and depressing. I am certain this is due to the combination of her mental illness and her traumatic upbringing (my wife's grandfather raped her mother; both her parents were alcoholics; she witnessed incest between her two older sisters; sexual abuse/ molestation occurred on at least two of her siblings; and her father was physically / verbally abusive to her, and her mother/ siblings).

Since you used to be a P.I. can you work any connections that you previously had? Also, most advocates (not lawyers) will offer services for free.

Would you mind saying a bit about your own background? And if you don't mind, what state you are in? Having that info would help me in providing a more cohesive reply. I'm in the U.S.A. and know a few things about these types of matters. I have also struggled/managed PTSD.

If we know what state you're in, I can send you a list of Fathers' Right advocates in your state.

I've worked with female advocates before for womens' rights so that's how I'm familiar with advocates. They're educated individuals who work for a non-profit organization that will familiarize you with your resources and fight for you. They're wonderful individuals in most situations. They could possibly help represent you in a court-environment (if it comes to that.)

Not a problem. Do you and your children's mother have a legal custody agreement currently, if so what is it?
