We just had a major election over here to find our next Prime Minister.

For the last numerous terms it was held by the Australian Labor Party, mostly Kevin Rudd, the Julia Gillard, then Kevin Rudd again. Well the ALP is done and dusted and lost in a landslide victory to the Liberal Party.
Mr Tony Abbott is the head the of the Liberal Party so he is the new PM.

The whole point of my post is that it does not matter who is elected in, there are haters everywhere. Bias people, people that don't get what they want.

You name me a politician in the last 50 years anywhere in the world who was loved.

Hmm, not an easy answer there. I was thinking about Eisenhower in the '50's. Ex-military leader, War Hero but still not everyone cared for his policies or even like him.

Perhaps it just comes with the territory. And maybe a paraphrase of what Lincoln said kind of sums it up: You can be liked by all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but not all the people all of the time.

Seems like no matter who is elected and where they are there's always someone that just doesn't care for them and their policies.

You guys aren't gonna like this...Hitler, Stalin, Ho Chi Minh, Mao. Hell, Hitler was a hero to his people, he changed the German economy overnight in economic terms. Austria begged to be let into the Third Reich, they wanted their economy saved.

How come we keep going up against countries whose people absolutely love their leader?

Not being flippant here. Perhaps truly free people are unhappy with what our leaders try to do to those freedoms.

Hmm, you know Sarg I think you're on to something here. Hitler took a wreck of a country and made it a world power and gave the people there purpose. As twisted and bizarre as it became, at first it did help.

I know this will sound crazy, but the then I'm certified, too much freedom and choices may breed unhappiness.

The Buddha taught that you need to free yourself from worldly desires to attain enlightenment and peace.

Freedom, do we really have it. No we don't. If we buy a block of land we can't build whatever we like on it. We still pay for water, electricity, etc. We can't drive to and from it without obeying rules. We offend greenpeace if we cut down too many tree's. We can't take too many fish from the ocean. We can't spit on the sidewalk. We are not really free.

If we want to be free we need to buy a couple of hundred acres of wilderness and build a hut in the middle. Live off the land.
