Housing has been a great burden for me. I became sensitized to formaldehyde 15 years ago due to over exposure to it at work. I can not tolerate it at all I am allergic to it. Throat swells, breathing is difficult, skin gets hives. And everything in the Western world has it in or on it.

There are very few places I can safely go. Gone are the days of vacationing at a hotel-too toxic. Malls? Too toxic. Workplaces-too toxic, etc.

I have managed to keep my house but it is such a financial hardship. Affordable housing has been out of consideration because I cannot use communal laundry machines.

I found an all in one portable washer and dryer online in America!!! I have known they're common in Europe and many appliance stores I have asked tell me they're not available in the US.

This is such a weight off my shoulders and my intractable anxiety just melted away. There is HOPE I can live in subsidized housing!!! Just wanted to share the good news

Good for you overcoming this obstacle. I am sensitive to formaldehyde but not as dramatically effected as you are. We live in a mobile home and could never buy a new one because of the chemicals. The older ones are out-gassed enough to not bother me.

Wishing you lots of fresh air :)
