Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section for forums.
Today I got accepted from another university into their program in order to become a paramedic. I'm a mature aged student by Australian standards (21 and over) I'm currently enrolled to study Mechanical Engineering although I do enjoy it. I believe my purpose is probably best suited to helping people rather than engineering though I have some self doubt based on others analyzing my personality in what I believe to be in a wrong manner
I was wondering if there is anyone who could give advice for studying paramedicine I'm considering deferring the offer for a year and also applying to see if I would be accepted into a nursing bachelor so I can make a informed decision.
Any advice on how people cope in these professions or what it was like to study their degree would be helpful, I know it might seem rude to ask such a thing on a PTSD forum but if anything there might be insight I don't know.
Although i'll be honest, I'm not going to know for certain unless I try. I'm not going to make a silly claims stating I can push through everything as I haven't experienced some of those circumstances in real life but I am fairly realistic about what Paramedics have to deal with on a daily basis for the most part.
Thank you for taking your time to read.
Hope all is well & everyone is keeping safe
