Poll PTSD Forum Gathering - Choose Your Destination

The previous poll gave an indication that a majority wanted to head to the Bahamas, though there was a little indecisive context from some, so instead of leaving all the variables open to interpretation, instead I have included four hot locations for choice.

Not everyone will be able to attend this, and if such, there is no need to apply negative comments to this thread. This is only applicable to those who are going to attend, nobody else.

Our preference is the Bahamas. I believe Abaco Island is one of the best islands to be for a good combination of all things, shopping, activities, resorts, relaxation, tours, etc.

I have included a few other places that I believe would be pretty good to holiday, being Barbados, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Aruba is one we planned to visit when Jim, Kathy and Evie where in that location, though they are in Canada again now I believe, so we exited that idea.

The majority wanted the trip to occur within the 12 - 24 month period, which we will get to dates after this poll ends at its 30 day mark.

If C is doing okay, I would like him to go with me. But that would be if other vets would be going as well. Anything in or near Mexico would be okay with him. The Bahamas would be okay too. Jamaica is one I would NOT want to visit. Been there. Unpleasant experience to say the least.

I was told today that, going to the Bahamas/Caribbean the best time would be March-April-May......Dec-March is still a bit cool, mid 60's...... I always went to St Thomas in April, and the weather was awesome......

I know this poll is about location, not dates but since it is being discussed somewhat...March/April has heavy traffic of college students on Spring Break. Just something to think about. Perhaps May will be the magic month ????

Growing up a natural redhead in Texas for 30 years my vote is for the location with the most shade.

I don't like any of the destinations because I don't like calm seas, sun, and low tides.
I'm seriously introverted too, in addition to being terrified of people. Don't let me be Scrooge on this post though. I will go whereever. Someday I'd like to go to Australia
and also have a wild Alaskan Salmon fishing retreat in Alaska!

Seaworthy you did actually add unnecessary negative comments even though you were asked not to in the opening post from Anthony. Please do as asked thank you.

Any place other than Jamaica. Jamaica has tourist crime, and the locals use poverty as an excuse to stick to tourists like Velcro begging for money and insulting the tourists when they don't respond to the begging.

Bahamas for me - just not sure about visa regulations. I have to fly through US, and they are very sticky with visas. it is not easy to get one.
