Back in country on a new contract. Business as usual; ragtag bunch of misfits from all over, put together to do 'special jobs'.

So far, I'm first guy here, so I'm waiting around on the base, getting lots of funny looks. I'm not excatly low visibility, I suppose: from bottom to top, I'm wearing a wrecked pair of black trainers, a pair of faded multicam trousers of an after-market type preferred by foreigners, a British-issue 'Norwegian' thermal top from the '90s, an old USAF A2 flying jacket that is on its very, very last legs and a green baseball cap with a Jolly Roger patch velcroed to the front.

I do actually have a full set of the local uniform back home, but it seemed unwise to travel in it and I only took one bag which was full of books. Also, I'm rather enjoying being a bit of a mystery for a few days.

It is freezing here this morning. I am shivering in bed in the caravan. Since Cyclone Alfred and the house next door burning down. It's been a challenge.

One of the highest statutory bodies has emailed for all the records from the Insurance Company claims.

They very rarely pick up a case.

This is the space of policy reviews and changes.

It's the silver lining at least this will be noted and perhaps some other folks don't suffer what we have undergone.

Hopefully this means that this is seen by the top brass and the Insurance Company is not allowed to send out unqualified, aggressive, poorly trained and unprofessional tradies in the future.

Any way in the end the Insurance Company has more resources. I wish I had known this outcome as I wouldn't have put in so much time documenting and putting in complaints.

The Insurance Company saga continues.

I wrote a solid response this morning.

I wept a couple of times and did a good job.

It will be so good when this is over.
