Mr. Zappa was one of the last great proponents of freedom of speech we had in the US. Now that George Carlin and Bill Hicks are dead. Nobody left that really knows shit. Everyone wants to run off and save Africa. Yippee. Save us first!

As they say, everything changes and usually not for the best. Been a musician pretty much my whole life. I play the bass, electric. love joe satriani, any thing bluesy and stuff like that. But listening to something from the 60's or 70's really takes me back.

Today everybody's gotta' be politically correct; make me want to puke. Now there's a funny word. :ROFLMAO:

Here's a tech question. Do you use the 'code' or 'media' to embed youtube stuff? I don't see any youtube tags here.

A lot of the time in theatre (whichever one) I think most of us accepted F'd Up as a normal state of affairs. This song, whilst it might have been written about drug use, seems to capture that sense of surreal and the strange calm with which we accept it. And what a cracking voice Grace Slick has got.........

Just tryin' to see how to post a YouTube Vid. Sleepwalk, original by Santo & Jonny, this cover by Joe Satriani.

Cool, figured it out. Oh!Yeah!

Enjoy. :)

Actually, no. He's got his own band and writes alot of his own music. I've included a couple of favorites of mine; Summer Song and Satch Boogie. They're both live and man do they rock. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live. WOW!!! makes me jump up and down and rock the house.

You've gotta' turn it up as loud as you can; till the neighbors call the cops. :ROFLMAO:

Enjoy

Funny thing, that. I was a schoolkid listening to Radio Luxemburg on a transistor, late 60s / early 70s, just when you were doing your stuff. Now I'm collecting up all that good stuff with older & wiser ears, Jefferson Airplane, Doors, Joe Cocker, Who, Stones, Led Zep etc. etc.
A surreal period and astonishing music. Totally uncommercial it sold because it was cool. And good.

What the f*ck is going on here? I've been away a few months and its gone to hell in a hand basket. Captain Beefhearts? Is that even real?

Where are the people with beards dressed as cheerleaders? What have you all been doing? Its like a set of monkeys doing a 1 minute trolley dash round Konzum. I can see I am going to have to come back and kick the ass out of this thread. Beefs heart? f*cking hell...
