Only way to do it, Squaddie, is grab that axe and practice, practice, ect. (I should talk). When I was a kid in high school, I'd (or we, depending on what group I was with at the time) would practice for two hours after school. I've added an item to my bucket list that I would put together a CD with kind of a musical history I went through.
Country and Western slid into folk, into rock, into Dylan (I mean every little twang is his skinny little frame) and then...nothing. My career, my wife's illnesses, other things took precedence. I can still form the chords but my picking is way off. Jack Daniels changed the voice to a deep bass.
So, in a way, I'm starting all over. You just have to decide what is more important in your life.
