Research PTSD research for undergraduate senior capstone project

Hi, @aroll - as you can see, confidentiality is a primary concern for users on our platform.

Some feedback, take it if it's useful.

After testing it out with a few friends, we are now looking for more users to play around with the app to see if the features we developed actually function as they are designed to. We currently have about 20 beta users but are looking for more people to try it out and give us feedback before we release it to the public on the app store.

How are you planning to collect this feedback? I don't think you've explained that yet...

And (2) we need your age because we are only offering it to people 18 yrs+ for liability and regulatory issues. We are not collecting any other information and will not sell any of your personal data. We will only be able to analyze usage of the app on an aggregate scale and will not have access to individual information.

It's better to be as transparent as possible. I'd suggest you amend your survey to say exactly what you've said, above. Asking for someone to verify being 18+ is quite different from asking their age. It's possible you're combining demographic info and age verification, but I'd think your professors would have taught you to do otherwise.

@shatter eyes asked whether or not you had obtained an IRB approval for using human research subjects vis-a-vis this app. I'm not certain you would need HRS IRB for this beta test - it would depend greatly on your answer to my question, re: feedback-collecting. Either way, I'm curious where you're at on that with this project.

Bottom line - I suggest you contact me directly, with some more info. It will be easier for me to review what you've got, see if it conforms to this site's policies, and help you better present it to our users.
