You could say that about 10% of the content in this community, to be honest. Forums became cluttered with sticky content. That's what bookmarking is for IMHO.

@anthony

So that very subtle piece in all caps & red...

- Simplicity: Hello, this is going to cause spiking! Expect it. Keep moving. ...Or ....
- Predictable is Preventible : There is a series of super predictable -and generally bad- things that happen if you start & then stop, so don't. Just don't.

?

Cough. Hoping for the first. Because I sort of did that a few months ago. The whole stopping, thing.

When you start... you really don't want to stop until you have gotten through the worst of what you set out to get through. Going into your trauma is opening Pandora's Box... once opened, you can't just close it and all is well. You can't put the lid back on and expect things to return to normal... trauma exploration just doesn't work that way.

One of the reasons therapy is pretty much shit, is because attending one hour sessions is useless. You just start to get into something, times up... then you leave completely symptomatic, out of control even, with no idea what the hell to do. Then you waste future sessions going through the shit you've tried to control caused by that first session... and before you know it, chasing your tail.

Therapists need to have super sessions with trauma clients, to be honest. They need to get away from this counselling model they have blanketed for all types of therapy. Severe trauma... they need to do 4 - 6 hour sessions at the one time. Atleast that way, they would actually solve things for the client, and the client would not be leaving out of control with no idea what to do.

Progress would get made if therapists adopted a different approach.

Everything you said in this comment is so true. I just realized it is exactly what I’m doing and have been chasing my tail since my first session over a year ago.

No wonder I keep running in circles and getting worse.

Thank you so much for creating this document and online site. You are amazing and so appreciated.

For the first time EVER I feel like I understand the process and what it takes more clearly.
