Rapid resolution therapy/hypnosis?

As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, certified in RRT, I can assure you, RRT is effective at a neural level. Read about memory reconsolidation (MR). MR is founded in neuroscience. As a MR researcher, RRT is the fastest treatment for PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, etc. And it does not require you to relive your trauma. Additonally, RRT/MR does not make you forget the event. It makes the symptoms associated (emotional responses) with the event(s) stop.

I've not read anyone elses comments. I wanted to do Rapid Resolution Therapy with the creator of it, he has hs practice in South Florida. I made an appointment. I was going to have to stay in a hotel. I gave the events that happened in one sentence outlines, and was I told I would need 3 days instead of one day. The sessions are 3 days of 5 to 6 hour sessios all in in row. The sessions are many hours long and I'm convinced this is why it really works. He has helped World Trade Center survivors, First Responders, Death of Loved one that can't be mourned, rape, childhood. In the end I decided I didn't want to spend $2500.00 . However, the current therapy I'm doing has cost me way more than that. I really wish I would have done it. Let me know how it goes!

I saw a new therapist yesterday and she wants to try RRT. In all my research on therapy I had never heard of this. I'm skeptical but the PTSD is supposed to resolve itself in one session. That sounds too easy. She said there isn't any reliving anything and it's easy and fun. Have you heard of this? I can't find much online that isn't from a source that provides/sells this therapy so my BS meter is wobbling a bit. I have no idea what happens in this kind of treatment session..

The other thing that concerns me is that there are things that I'd really like to try to remember from my sexual assault but this treatment doesn't go into any detail, so even if it did get rid of my immediate physical symptoms I would still have unanswered questions. After 30 years I'm finally ready and actually wanting to talk about it for some reason so this makes me wonder if it would be better to do PE.

I'm going to give it a go next week and will report back. I figure I have nothing to lose except a co-pay, right? I really really liked my new T otherwise.

I am an intern at a behavioral services organization and see patients who are treated for trauma (including sexual trauma) by an RRT therapist and the before and after is remarkable. I'm including a link to a paper with more detail that can be downloaded as a pdf. There's a specific case mentioned within the paper about a sexual assault survivor. The paper discusses in plain terms how the brain works, how memories are stored, and the concept of "neuroplasticity" that is the key to removing the emotional charge (and attending symptoms) attached to a memory through the process of reconsolidation.

Also, here's a more scholarly work on the subject of memory reconsolidation as pertains in particular to trauma:

The two above works helped me to understand the phenomenon. I am a survivor of sexual abuse and feel strongly that this is an effective treatment, especially when I consider the amount of time I invested in my own healing journey. Some of the patients I see report that they've gone to talk therapy, sexual assault survivor support groups, and tried any number of methods to resolve their trauma. For some, when we see them, the experience is the first time they've disclosed what they've kept silent about. But, in both cases, the resolutions tend to be swift (compared to years of therapy) and I hope you'd consider trying it, but either way, your decision and treatment path is your own and respected.
