Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

The Last Tribe.
Turned out to be too vanilla to be interesting. The tribe consists of 4 brothers, one wife, their kids, and about 14 unrelated people and children, about 24 in all. One girl is supposed to be a super genius at 13, so she gathers data to find the best place to start a colony. She chooses Hawaii for it's food, closeness to the ocean, climate, and lack of insects. She was going to medical school, so I assume she had biology. There is not enough genetic diversity to have a sustainable colony. They dropped notes from a plane over a few cities, as their elderly pilot flew them to Hawaii, hoping to come back to pick anyone up. It makes no sense to move such a lack of genetic diversity far from anyone else.

The Revenant", after which I watched the film and am still still shaking my head over it;
Marukami's "1Q84" which I gave up on after 600 pages;
Read both, couldn't finish 1Q84 either.

I'm reading the first in the Michael Bennett series called Step On A Crack by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge. I'm a James Patterson fan yet his last one in the original series about Alex Cross wasn't that great. This one is a better read.

Soon I'll be reading Coping with Trauma-Related Dissociation: Skills Training for Patients and Therapists by Boon, Steele, and Van Der Hart as recommended by my therapist. I ordered it yesterday.

So finally! finished the Mirror Thief. It got to the point where I had to finish it because I got too far into it and my stubborn attitude would not let me throw it in the library bag and forget about it. Was it worth 600 odd pages of mind bending wordy language... nah.. I could have lived happily without it.

Then I read Anatomy of a Scandal, Sarah Vaughan, 2018. Pub. Simon & Schuster UK Ltd -
Fast moving legal drama but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has experienced Rape or tried to give evidence in a Trial against someone who has assaulted them. Clearly this author knows a lot about the legal system.
