Research Research - Infographic Topics

I think that the relationship between physical disciplining towards children and the relationship of being primed for not only PTSD but also a host of other health complaints would be interesting.

The Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE)s framework could be useful for an infographic.

Maybe this is off topic but as you mentioned in another post, most people with PTSD aren't severe. Is there already an article on the site about it?

It's not discussed on the forums because too many people equate differentials in symptomology with comparing trauma (when it's not).

But to me it would be VERY helpful to have it spelled out how symptom levels vary greatly amongst sufferers as this type of discussion is quickly squashed here.

It would be helpful to have an article or something similar that explains how PTSD is a complex disorder that can present in different ways in that some people can have families, careers, etc, while others are at very low functioning levels.

Kind of an explanation for a newbie or an outsider. Or someone like me who just wants it acknowledged that symptom levels can vary considerably but we all still fall under the same PTSD umbrella. Lol.

Maybe some correlation between startling and amount of sleep one gets. Or adrenaline levels in one who has ptsd and does this correlate to amount of sleep? Why is the startle reflex worse some days more than others?

The "tilt your head" facts :O_o: are a fun one, too, IMO. Like PTSD causes by geographic region (ice climbing??? I really wish I could remember where I read this one. No idea if it's accurate. Because I have about a picosecond's tolerance for research at the moment. But it was <blink blink, huh> so it stuck.). Is also a pretty good underscore for "what's traumatic enough?" When you have a little map with pop out bubbles with things like sexual violence, child abuse, war, natural disaster, etc. As a smaller info graphic inside of a larger one.

Oh where do we start?
Disassociation - withdrawn from everyone - that UnComfortably Numbness - Memory and forgetfulness
How about having anxiety with major depression and PTSD
or having multiple levels of PTSD (from child abuse, then gang raped and trauma as an adult)
or the complication trying to find the right pill that helps most the symptoms .

Ice climbing? Really?

That's not surprising, actually, considering ice climbing can involve loose rocks and ice, very cold climates, potential frostbite...oh, and avalanches, that too probably. I get shivers just thinking about it.

I'm thinking for teaching supporters, things like the difference between CPTSD and PTSD, how it could tie in to disorders like Depression and Anxiety disorders. Framing myths vs. facts of PTSD.
