Seroquel And Other Meds - I'm Afraid

I have just been to see my psychiatrist. Due to my PTSD, my anxiety has been quite high. I am not coping very well with sleep and general every day things. Mentally, I find myself constantly back at my workplace where traumatic events took place.
My previous meds were 100mg Pristiq & 1mg Ativan in the morning, 1mg Ativan at noon and 2mg Ativan at night.
My P has recommended I take 150mg of Pristiq and 1mg Ativan in the morning. Continue with 1mg of Ativan at noon and also have 50mg of Seroquel at night.
The change of meds are to help with my anxiety for the future exposure therapy I'm going to have in a few weeks. I'm afraid on so many levels what this amount of medication can do to me and was wondering if anyone else has any experience taking Seroquel.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Ragdoll,

One suggestion would be to read about Seroquel and then write down the list of questions for your P. Also, search this site for sleep and then write down the names of drugs, herbs, and behavioral means of addressing sleep problems. These should also be discussed with you P.

I spent 5 years on a medication roller coaster and just finally decided that I would research and question things. It has worked out really well for me and I am finally on a medication that actually doesn't make me feel worse, has not horrible side effects, and really makes a difference in my ability to cope.

Everyone's chemistry is different, but knowledge is power, and no one can look out for you any better than you looking out for yourself.

Wishing you the best in this endeavour.
