So recently I've been having some test periods, with just a tiny bit higher dosage of Zoloft, and it made me feel better. Noticably. Before that Zoloft was a very faint effect, but there, I felt okay, happy, hopeful, not completely mushed.

And I'm thinking, as the summer is coming, and I won't see my P for a month or two, maybe I should suggest a full increase in dosage for the summer? Just taking this out of my mind here, as it's all over it.

Currently I'm on 50mg, and the increase would be to 100mg I guess.

Is it wise to up a dosage when you can't see your psych for checks, meantime?

Is there anyone you could see for eventual issues? (All sorts of issues. Higher dosage doesn't necessarily mean more desired effects. It could be being on a low dose is what's helpful to you.)

Well, there are psychiatrists and a psych ward in the place I live, so yea, I can see people in case complications occur.

The checks with my psych are not too much of a vital thing in starting meds. Or at least have not been up till now, if it's really bad, I can modulate and adapt

Doubling the dose isn't exactly a tiny increase. But since the therapeutic range is 50-200 it would make sense that your docs might want to up you, if you accidentally doubled your dose and had a "Wow. I feel normal." effect from it. -Or- If you purposefully took an extra 1/4 or 1/2, etc.? I would suggest asking for that dose, instead of a higher/doubled one. Psych meds are one of those quirky things where 50 does nothing 62-66 does amaaaaazing 75 does suicidal & 100 does nothing again (to use only one of hundreds of possible variables). Finding the exact right dose for your own personal neurochem can be super difficult. So whatever the exact dose you found to be most efficacious? Ask for that one. Regardless of how you found it.

That said, I also have to very strongly agree with Cashew that a sudden gap in care is usually the worst time to start changing your meds. Typically one wants to be more monitored during med changes, not less.

Hey, I take 250 mg/day of Zoloft...O.o but I'm speshul.

If you go up and find it too much or counterproductive, you can go back down, I suppose.
