It takes me a long time to open up and be able to trust anyone (I know I'm not the only one here) so I apologize in advance if I don't seem open or am hesitant to discuss certain things...my paranoia gets the best of me at times and I feel like I'm being monitored so until I build a rapport with someone I tend to be short I guess...just don't like revealing certain information over the inernet...I also at times will get off track or go on a tangent, well anyways I'm from Ohio, I spent 6 yrs in the Ohio Army National Guard (first 3 yrs as a 19K and last 3 yrs as 11C, even though of course since we were National Guard I didn't do either of my MOS in Iraq, that would make too much sense to go to war on what you were trained to do) including my 12month deployment to Iraq from Jan 05-Dec 05 during OIFIII. I have severe, chronic PTSD due to my experiances in Iraq and receive Social Security Disability and VA Disability compensation for my PTSD. There's a million things I could say or tell but I will probabley being taking it slow as this is my first internet forum and am hesitant about security, anonymity and such...well I think ill leave it at that for now

Welcome mate, a you are among friends here.

The anonymity is fine, the only person who knows your true details is Anthony the site creator and administrator.

As for security, well there is no real security on here so you don't mention names or sensitive stuff. You can good nearly every page except for the pages under 'Members Only' and they can be accessed by anyone signing up.

If you wish to post something extremely anonymous, there is an anonymous section too.

Having said all that, we can generally tell a veteran after a few of their posts and we manage to weed out non veterans and have them banned.

The feeling like your being monitored is par for the course with PTSD or 'The Beast' as we so aptly put it. It's natural to be like that, suspicious of everyone and everything.

Anyway,

welcome

Jimmy

Hey Man, Welcome to the forum. No worries about the privacy worries. As Jimmy said, posers, haters, and salesman are run out of here pretty quick. We smell them a mile away.

In the mean time there is nothing wrong with just sitting back and reading. Post when you are comfortable and know, we are all in the same boat here.

Again, Welcome.

Welcome! Very laid back here, so just cruise at your own pace. And it isn't paranoia, it's "being aware of your surroundings".
