I don't think it's a competition, so it's not really a big deal if someone else "cheats" by posting the same thing multiple times (or posting the alphabet letter by letter...). If that's what they want to do, then so be it. But the idea, at least from what I understand, is to give an idea of the more experienced and knowledgable of the forum.

Having seen the doves around the forum, I'm starting to think that maybe each row should be a similar colour and then the next row be different colours. Like, maybe having black when you're a new member, then blue or something for the next row. I'm unsure, but I find everyone having up to 4 different coloured icons a bit distracting and mildly irritating, when they are all appearing at the same time for that member.

Staff already remove such nonsense posts as it is, such as repetitive, smilie responses, etc.

I also agree that rows one and three are too similar.

What is the difference between the dove row & the row of green dots?

Nicolette has lots of doves, but few dots. I have lots of doves and lots of dots. Abstract has one dove and tons of dots. I hover over different people's doves & dots and the same words appear- "learning" or "healing". Mine says "living." I guess, the way I've been doing lately, I'm glad it doesn't say "dead." :p

They must be measuring different things, but I can't figure out which one is measuring what.

Ok. The theory is that the more posts you have, the more "healed" you are. So both are measuring post count. Every time the green bar completely fills up, you get a dove. The green bar then resets. You can get up to 4 doves, and then those reset to the next level, and you start collecting doves again. So...

Green bad fills up = 1 dove
4 doves = unlock next level of doves

Right now there are three levels of doves, so if you have a million posts, like Anthony, then you have all the doves.

You actually are on the same level as Anthony, I think. You might have more posts than you realize :)

It maxes out at that level, so the green bar will continue to fill up and reset without you collecting any more doves. When Anthony adds more levels, there will be more you can collect.

The first and third levels look very similar right now, and I think Anthony is planning on changing one of the rows to something else.

My two cents:

I would not use a different number of doves per set (as I think it would lead to more inquiries at the help desk). So, I'd, say, have four doves per set and three sets total. Simply not too many because it can get easily confusing. Same with the colors. I personally would prefer each set having the same color or each dove of each set having the same color, i.e. the first dove of each set green, the second of each set blue... Genereally, I'm not too fond of too many colors, because there already are a few (mood button, membership band, color of the member's name, color of the title, the doves and the healing bar.

I think that the progression should be visible/noticeable in some way, i.e. by the doves' wings being more "in flight" as the doves progress (sorry, lack of English, hope it's clear enough) and by color, i.e. have the last dove be green because the healing bar is also green.
