Yukky! JMHO... The black background is harsh. It flies off the page. I see it causing startle or anxiety to those with fast moving visual issues.

Goth has it's place. :)

I just think it looks out of place against all the others. Maybe keeping the usual white background but making the yellow itself a lot darker?

IF, it's been changed to a darker yellow. If you are still seeing black squares, try clearing your cache and cookies on your browser. :)
