I haven't read your post too closely Anthony as I am still waiting for 'tattoo' to arrive. I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

Take care

The books were amazing, the first few chapters took me forever to get through as I was trying to geographically picture myself in Sweden without a frame of reference. The revenge scence was vindicating, just beware this scene in the movie is very vivid and takes a good chunk of the Hollywood version. The 2nd and 3rd only get better, with lots of amazing twists for Lisbeth and Mikael.

As a side note, I am purposely avoiding reading the Hunger Games as I know I will get sucked in and won't want to put them down like with the Steig trilogy.

Funny that I would give into peer pressure for reading than for anything else:D...such a nerd! The sad part of reading an awesome series is that the series ends and you are so sucked into the story that you want it to go on forever. I was happy when the Harry Potter series ended, sad when the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series ended, and I can only imagine the next series (Hunger Games) being awesome.

I need to get laundry and house cleaning done first before starting Hunger Games as I know it will be neglected until I finish the last book!

Disclaimer - If you haven't read the first book, don't read below:p.

As for Lisbeth, she rocks. I love that she sticks up for herself and she doesn't allow anyone to define how she feels or how she sees herself. With all of her childhood trauma, her Dad beating her Mom and sister, her setting her Dad on fire, then her second guardian abusing her. The only light through this whole ordeal for her was the first guardian who rescued her and treated her like a human being and not like a juvenile delinguent. I think this was what helped her adjust and be able to face life in her odd way but with conviction for what is right and wrong.

I can't wait for everyone to read about the history with Lisbeth's Dad and who he was...very intriguing!

Yer, I'm nearly finished the second book. Will finish today. I find it very interesting already that the police investigation is showing one thing from her past documents, though the few who know her paint a completely different picture for the police, which just has them baffled. I only have about 200 pages to go I think... so I will get through them today and then the lucky last book.

The hunger games is really good with its ending actually, as the third book contains an epilogue that completes the story going further into the future, which really closes of the storyline well.

Just finished book two.... OMFG, talk about on the edge of your seat anticipation! I was seriously going to burn the third book if she died... but wow, talk about leave a person hanging. Now I have to read the last one just to get the goss. I can understand already why the last ones title is what it is, being the shit that is going to roll down hill from judges, police, etc, from all the investigations and evidence sought.

It is easy for society to put people in certain molds based on how they look or whatever the mainstream decides is okay and not okay. From a young age, Lisbeth was put into a mold of having personality disorders, psychologicial disorders, and social outcast, and locking her up in a hospital because of it. As you will find out soon...the anticipation is growing...all of her behavior was a response to someone's cruel treatment towards an innocent. She wasn't crazy, just lived by a different set of rules. An eye for an eye!

The third book is the best one! It starts slow but ends with you saying...huh...really...so cool!!!

Yeah, my copy of the first book arrived this morning. I will close down the computer early tonight, pour myself a nice glass of wine and settle down to read. H is away so I'll have no interuptions ;).

The only frustrating part for me, book one was about 550 pages, book two 650 pages and just pulled out book three, 750 pages. Damn it...

I could have watched the movie tonight. However, I stayed strong and did not.:D I want to read the books first.

I have not even a clue as to what these books are about. Anthony, you made them sound so great I had to get them.:geek:
